Good Evening,
I am anticipating taking delivery of my MiSTer on Friday. I wanted to get my MircoSD card setup. I am a Linux desktop user. I used balenaEtcher to flash the latest mr-fusion image to said MicoSD card.
It has created a small partition, leaving most of the 128GB MicroSD card unallocated. Once I setup the MiSTer will it create a new partition with the remaining allocated space for cores & ROMS?
Thank you in advance for your replies, I am excited to finally join this community.
ETA: I purchased this kit - https://misteraddons.com/products/mister-bundles due to Amazon being out of stock of the DE-10 nano. The item describes a "Power Adapter" and "Power Supply". It does not state it comes a power supply. Did I overlook this? Will I need to hunt down a Power Supply for this?

![]() | Been having an issue with the color on my Panasonic BT-H1350Y. It is showing a pinkish color, and when I switch it to RGB the image just becomes garbled. I have it hooked up to my Sony pvm showing a clear picture for an example on how it looks. Any help? https://imgur.com/gallery/Z73Asr7 sorry, failed to mention, yes I’m using a mister here. Was curious if there’s a setting I need to change so that the picture cleans up on the Panasonic. [link] [comments] |
Subject: New aluminum case options for MiSTer available tomorrow, Nov 28 at 4pm EST
I've been going back and forth about whether or not I was going to purchase a MiSTer setup. I've watched the Youtube videos for over a year now and I finally caved in. Ordered the board, the SDRAM, the fan and heat sink PCB, 128GB SD card and the power splitter. Is there anything else I am missing?

I got a lot of SmokeMonster/EverDrive/MiSTer packs last spring from archive.org, and installed them without any issues. I 've been running them from a thumb drive though, and I think the thumb drive is starting to fail. Several Amiga titles are reporting a disk error when I attempt to start them. I went to re-download the packs to install on a more robust disk but I can't find them.
So, two questions: 1) How can I diagnose/repair/salvage what's on my thumb drive, and 2) Is the Amiga pack still out there somewhere?

I've pretty much got most of my roms all setup on my mister... The one thing that's giving trouble understanding is Mame in general.
First thing I want to explain is that I'm using an hard drive for my rom directories, all of my Mame core files are all on an SD card. Am I just supposed to put all of my Mame roms in an arcade folder? Or just the ones that are currently supported? And then rbf files... I have no clue about these. Mame just seems much more complicated in terms of setup than everything else I've done so far... Thanks in advance.

Subject: Has anyone had any mapping issues with the 8bitdo SN30?
As stated above, has anyone had any mapping issues with the X and Y buttons on the 8bitdo SN30? It was previously working well but has now had mapping issues with those buttons.
Please advise

I bought the standard IO board (v6.1) ,, and audio through the line out port was working great up for a few days up until today.. I have tried two different cables, connected to two different devices, the SOG switch to auto, as well as the switch on the actual de-10 nano (switch closest to the ethernet port) is switched to the normal position.. anything I am missing here? (I even ran the updater script to be on the most up to date firmware versions)

Subject: My custom Mister build - runs from USB power bank
I’ve been messing about and built a cool rig using and old hifi component case... I’ve also been experimenting with powering the whole thing with USB power banks and have been pretty successful for the most part.
With that in mind, it really feels like a portable Mister could be a real possibility.
Anybody else doing that? If so, which screen did you buy?

Hi ya,
Just got my MiSTer setup.
Main board DE10 128mb ram
Usb 2.0 hub
Managed to get Genesis, GBA and PC Engine / Super Grafx cores going but when I try the Amiga core and setup the config, I just get a blank screen. Sometimes black, sometimes blue or green.
I’m using the kick roms from Amiga Forever and have tried hdf files that I know work on WinUAE as well as downloading a set from a YouTuber in the UK called Pezz who has a pre-done setup
Tried A500 and A1200 settings (OCS and AGA) with the kick 1.3 and 3.1 roms all to no avail
Also tried multiple versions of the core from the GitHub and have the same experience
Anyone else seen this and can point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance
Giles

![]() | I am stuck in a loop with the Update All script "update_all.sh". Adding it to the /Scripts folder didn't work and gave me an error message "If you see this, then you need to modify MiSTer.ini" (see first picture). I had not updated my MiSTerFPGA for about 6 months...I discovered there was no such thing as a MiSTer.ini file at the root of my microSD card... I downloaded the latest version available and then changed via_scaler as requested by the error on the CRT screen. This resulted in my MiSTerFPGA not showing any picture on the CRT TV, just scrambled snow... I then reverted the change and instead changed fb_terminal=0 as suggested. Now, I am getting the error in the second picture attached to this post, telling me the script might work if I change via_scaler... which I tried and can't do because I get no image at all. The script still did proceed to downloading a whole bunch of updates, but I would be very grateful if someone could explain what the "SORRY! Can't display the SETTINGS..." error entails? Is my installation all broken now? Also, is there any ultimate online guide and useful resources specifically for those using MiSTerFPGA on an old CRT TV? Thanks After adding update_all.sh in my /Scripts folder After adding a MiSTer.ini file and changing fb_terminal=0 *Update 1* The scripts and updates stopped with the below error.I ran the script again, and it now says "Update All 1.3 finished". Subject: Philips TV sync workaround on SNES/Genesis cores. It's not perfect but it works.
For anyone on an old Philips TV (or any other brand exhibiting this problem), it's kind of annoying that half of the cores on MiSTer load up with a completely loss of sync, resulting in a warbly image.
So I've got a less-than-great workaround (mostly because I don't know enough about HDL programming to submit a similar fix into those cores) for anyone dealing with this problem.
- Load up your MiSTer SD card, or SSH into it, and go into the "Gamma" folder.
- Make a single copy of any of the files, like
Poly 3.0.txt
. Open it up in Notepad (or Vim or whatever) and change the first number in that file to48
. Alternatively, paste the contents of this text dump into a new txt file and name it something like "A Philips Fix.txt" - Set Gamma Correction in the core to "on" and choose your newly-made gamma. Save the setting.
- Try loading a new game. You should see a gray-ish screen but it should no longer fail to sync with your TV.
Basically this forces the core to show the TV a non-fully-black image, and this makes it easier for some televisions to find the darker blanking signal. Once the game is loaded and the sync fixed, you can just toggle gamma correct back off. Unfortunately, you'll need to have this particular gamma curve turned on every time you load a new game, or as before, have to wait until that particular game loads a background color that's not too dark for your TV to restore sync.
In theory, I think a single gray frame at startup would probably fix things in a similar way, but again, I've got no idea how to implement that kinda fix into a given core, let alone properly request an upstream merge of my fix.
edit: Actually, the Genesis core seems to have its own brand of funkiness, 'cause after running this fix, I get a failed vsync (blanking frame at the bottom starts moving up slowly), but a working hsync. Toggling the SOG off and on fixes this, oddly.

Hello my mister runs great! I just need some guidance with help setting up this core.
I click on the core, and it installed Windows 95. I'm kind of at loss on what to do next? Does anyone have a guide, or can help me?
Thank you.

Hi there,
I purchased the USB WiFi adapter from MisterFPGA.co.uk ( https://misterfpga.co.uk/product/mister-fpga-wifi-adapter/ ), however, I am having trouble getting it working.
When I run the wifi.sh setup from SSH (whilst connected over eth) i get an error saying no wlan0 interface detected.
Looking in /sys/class/net there is no wlan0 entry
Doing a "lsusb" shows the device ID: 148f:7601, which according to google appears to be a Mediatek 7601 chipset.
/var/log/messages has a few entries appearing when i plug the device in:
- Firmware Version: 0.1.00 Build: 7640 Build time: 201302052146____
- Error: your device needs default EEPROM file and this driver doesn't support it!
- probe of 1-1.6:1.0 failed with error -22
Any suggestions as to how I can get this adapter to work?
