Finally got the wife to agree to it, and I’m planning on ordering new M340i and trying to decide on a color. Nobody has an oxide grey car in stock within 100miles of me, otherwise I would drive out to see it in person. I can tell from photos that I’m sunlight it has seems to have an almost golden hue, warm feel to the color.

For those that have seen the color in person, did you think “That’s a grey car.” Or “That’s a gold car.”?

Also wondering for those who have active drive assist pro package, do you find it’s something you would order again? I’ve heard from some friends with different cars (different makes entirely) that they ended up turning most of the active driving/cruise control features off because it just felt too weird. Thoughts?

Ohh, and laser lights? Yay? Nay? Shit I’m probably going to check all the damn boxes anyways…

I've got a cold start issue on my car - LCI E61 525D. It kicks out a load of white smoke and has a lumpy idle for 5-10 seconds on cold starts. Fairly confident it's going to be the glow plugs and/or plug module.Given that the inlet has to come off to do either of them easily I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and do them both at the same time.

While I've got the inlet off is there anything else worth doing? The car's got 135k on it and is driving perfectly. I had a FSH when I got it in the summer. No warning lights, no unusual sounds, getting 35-40mpg around town and 50-60 on a run so I don't have any concerns but with any high mileage, older car it's worth doing a few bits when you can!

It's a 525 so I don't believe it has a swirl flap issue, auto box was serviced at around 100k, EGR & inlet will probably need a damned good clean though. Not looking for remaps or anything that'll need programming in, just want to keep it running nicely for as long as I can.

My bmw 320d isn’t picking up any speed, thinking it’s the hosepipe connecting to the turbo either has a slit or has come off one end. First I thought it may have been some sort of speed limiter function on the Idrive but not too sure. Anyone wanna shed some light on this

Hello fellow bmw enthusiasts. I have a 2012 bmw x35d. 136xxx miles. Recently changed VCG, CCV tube, deleted swirls, thermostat, also hit a pothole and all my emissions equipment fell off. Tuned on Malone 2.9. I am noticing increased oil consumption. It seems to have always burned oil sims I got it at 123k. It’s starting to scare me. What are the common areas for oil consumption? I’ve heard that valve seals may be a thing, however I’ve also hear the small turbos may go out, and start burning oil as well. How can I figure out where it’s coming from? If I let it idle, it will also drip from somewhere… don’t know if it’s enough to cause the drops I’m getting. I haven’t logged my miles/consumption yet. But I’m adding a quart every few weeks. What should my first step be? Thank you!

I have a 2014 328i with 85k miles and just had it in due to a check engine light. They told me the turbo waste gate is bad and the whole turbo will have to be replaced. Quote is $5400

Thing is the car drives fine. Am I risking the engine if I don’t get it replaced?

Does that sound like a fair price?
