Subject: Is this trunk door a genuine BMW part? If so, what is it called? Is there also a similar one available for the E39?
Subject: not really into bmw‘s but i thought y’all might enjoy this sketch i made of the M4 :)
I'm killing myself with indecision over whether or not a M760 is a stupid choice or not. I recently became a dad and want more space for passengers and a car seat, but still have something fun to drive. I'm coming from long term ownership of a E46 M3 which is making it really hard to find excitement in today's engines. I looked at 5ers but with modern, huge, super safe car seats, even they aren't big enough to fit one and still have leg room in the front.
The practical parent part of me says go with a 740 to get the space with a more mainstream engine. However the 740 prices used are nearly the same as some of the lower priced 760s. I'll get all the 7 series issues regardless of which model, but at least one of them comes with a V12. The V8 ones and any SUV are out of the question. Simply don't trust any bmw v8s.
Am I crazy? Stupid? It'd be fun to have a V12 once before they are gone but it's mentally hard to get over the fact it was a $160k+ car new. Are there options I'm overlooking? I'm used to these cars being maintenance whores but is a 760 another level?

Subject: For those following the build: it’s on its way to the port!
As per above, I bought my 2020 Mustang GT last year and although I love the car, I am not loving the gas consumption nor that I can’t (choose not to) drive it year round as I love in Eastern Canada. I haven’t had the opportunity to drive the new model of the 340 yet, but it seems like it would be a good alternative. Lots of power, AWD etc.
I understand this is a BMW forum and likely biased, however comments from those that have driven both etc. would be welcomed. I am worried about missing that raw Coyote power!
TIA
