Hey all- hoping some folks have an idea on this. I’m buying a new X5 that I got built the way I like was wondering about some of the extras I should consider.
Should I get a maintenance package? If so can I pick and choose only certain things like brakes, and oil, and exclude paint or something?
Is cilajet worth the an extra 2k?
Any insight into the maintenance package or any additional things would be great!

Subject: I am looking at buying a used X5 from a non-BMW dealer and am having trouble getting service records as I don’t own it. Can anyone here help? I don’t need them sent to me, just have a few questions based on the Carfax.
I currently drive a 2018 530i, that no debt on it with about 32k miles. I’m 18, so this was my moms car before I started driving and now she barely drives so it’s my car. The only modifications i’ve done to it are cosmetic (roof, mirror, and reflector wraps) and I also took out the resonator, which i probably shouldn’t have, although I can put that back in if i’m going to sell the car.
I love my car and have no issues with it, but it’s more of a luxury car and being young I kind of want a more fun, faster car. I also really enjoy driving manual, so i’m hoping my next car is a manual.
I came across a 2016 M235i with a manual transmission and about 23k miles, and I’m interesting in it. I’m just worried about buying a used car, especially a BMW, that could have been abused tf out of and i wouldn’t know. The car is out of state so i wouldn’t be able to see it before i purchase. what do you guys think

My wife’s 2008 BMW 328xi had the B640717 Recall: Blower Motor Wiring and B111617 Recall: PCV Valve Heater come up. We brought it in for the recall and now the blower isn’t working at all. I don’t drive the car much and and it didn’t seem right when i drove it home but my wife noticed it immediately. I called the dealership and they said bring it in.
They called 20 minutes after I dropped it off and said there’s nothing wrong, they can’t duplicate. I said I notice it in the morning when we start the car. The car gets warm because the heat is blowing from somewhere just not the blower. They held the car overnight and called mid morning saying again they don’t see any issues.
We just went there got in the car and immediately noticed the air wasn’t blowing out. The tech left so the gal from service who said earlier she checked it herself and it was working fine is now changing her tune. She said that when they fixed the recall maybe it gave the blower a bit too much juice and blew it out but the blower probably was on its way out anyways.
Now they are saying they are going to find out their cost to repair but I don’t know what that’s means. I’m not trying to pay the dealership for the cost of this cause I know it’s going to be a lot and it was working fine before they did work directly related to the blower. Are they responsible here or are we on the hook for paying for this repair?

My gf wants to order an M4 6sp manual. Her build sheet’s only options currently are frozen portimao blue paint and carbon interior. Is there anything that is a “I wish I would have gotten that!” .

Thinking of buying a 2013 bmw 328i with 49k miles, 2 owners excellent maintenance and CarFax history, zero accidents.
Seller is asking $17k with no flexibility on price. Prices are clearly through the roof right now across the board.
What are some pitfalls I should look out for? Is it common to demand an independent pre-purchase inspection from the used dealership?

Subject: Hey gang, I have a bmw 320i e90 N45 engine and have minimal mechanical knowledge. Just checking if this car has power steering fluid? And if yes, where is it? The steering is a bit hard and thought of changing fluid myself. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Subject: Are older BMWs ACTUALLY expensive on maintenance?
I found this 1999 i328 drop top and it looks like it’s been well taken care of, everyone always says don’t get a bmw the maintenance is super high, but i feel like the older cars get the easier it is to repair them?

Subject: Traded in my Corvette for my first BMW. Already loving the community. Meet Nimbus
Hi everyone,
I’m looking at buying an X4, and when I build one online, it’s cheaper than what’s on the lots right now for used vehicles. Is the market really that messed up? What’s the wait time typically for a new build? Are there any gotchas when ordering? I’d imagine the build times are at least a few months out, which is fine, I don’t need a car tomorrow. Thanks for the input!
