Subject: Bmw are adding subscriptions as an option, but you can still spec a car with options and they won’t be removed.
I don’t know if people genuinely believe you have to get heated seats on subscription but it sure seems like it.
Of course you can still spec any of these options and pay initially. Just like you always could.
Now you also have the option to buy a car and add features later, even to a used car. No headache of retrofitting features which costs way more.
Additionally you can just pay outright for the feature at a later date, it doesn’t have to be on a subscription.
It’s a good option to have. If I really wanted a heated steering wheel, and the perfect car has everything except that specd, I can now just pay £300 or so to add that feature, instead of swapping the wheel and the fuss that goes with that.

Subject: 2014 328i AC stopped working and then turning on the heat fixed it, what could it be?
I was driving home yesterday and it was about 95 degrees and humid as hell, as such I had the AC on. About 45 minutes into my commute I realized it was getting warm in the car, but the air coming out of the vents was still cold. So I cranked up the fan speed and realized that even on High it was just barely blowing. I tried various settings and regardless, even though I could hear the blower motor running at max, virtually no air was coming out.
I ran into a nasty downpour so I couldn't fiddle with it too much, but once I got to the other side I rolled the windows down because I was about to die of heat. Which made me wonder if the heat wouldn't blow either, so I switched everything over to heat and cranked it to max. With 60 seconds the force of the air increased slowly and within about 4 minutes it was blowing full strength again. AC worked fine this morning.
Now I assume something froze up between the high humidity and the ice cold air, but I'm not really sure what it could have been. Maybe a blend door? All I know is the blower was running 100%, the air was cold but no matter what the settings were it wasn't blowing out any of the vents. Since I had the windows down I let the heat blast full on for about the last 15 minutes of my drive thinking that if it was some condensation somewhere it might dry it out.
Any ideas?

So my Audi RS3 just blew it's engine and the repairs are just to expensive. Now I'm looking for a new car but don't know what to get. I'm looking to upgrade to an estate car and came across these three bimmers.
My first question is reliability. Do any of these cars have known issues and if they do, what are they? Is the diesel more reliable than the petrol engine in the 340?
Secondly, is gas mileage and low end torque worth the loss in horsepower when choosing a diesel over a petrol 340?
And lastly. Because I live in Switzerland and often end up driving on narrow roads. Is the Size difference that noticeable? From seeing the specs the 340 is only 4cm smaller than the 550 in terms of width.
If it helps, I'm looking at 2020 and newer M340s and at 2018 and newer M550s. Also if you have any other similar car suggestions I'd gladly hear them out as I'm open for anything.
