That’s it. That’s the post.
Context: My landlord is a slumlord who turned a very cool historical apartment complex into a shithole gaggle of Airbnb’s. I’ve called him a slumlord to his face which he found upsetting…but the thing that pissed him off the most is when I pointed out that his 330i wasn’t a real M series. WHEW LAD he was big mad.
Make of this what you will. This post is by no means intended to imply that anyone with a dubious M series badge is a slumlord. Put whatever you want on your vehicle, idgaf.

Subject: Whats the deal with the cross over year of 2010 F10 and E60, N54/N55
Im trying to get a Wagon with a N55 motor and in 2010 they had both a F10 and E60 (F11 and E61).
But it looks like the E60 had the more problematic N54 where the N55 was in the F10 and a bit better.
Theres a e61 that the dealer replaced valve cover gasket, timing chain, oil filter housing and check out the turbo.
Im tempted to go with that but wan the quieter NA inline six but 535's seem like the only ones I can find.

Subject: Bought a 745e with 1.2K miles that sat for almost 2 years - any special care to give it?
![]() | A few weeks ago I bought a 2020 BMW 745e that had 1.2K miles on it. It was a BMW Corporate Executive car that sat during COVID due to those workers becoming virtual. I love the car and it's normally something way out of budget, but a $35K discount on MSRP for 1.2K miles with a car I don't have to buy gas for on 2/3 of my trips and still eligible for the EV tax credit was hard to turn down. I love it! I'm new to BMW and see that they require some extra TLC. Are there any things I should do to it to compensate for sitting 2 years? I'm obviously running really good gas, although I can go weeks with running on battery only. I did buy Rislone Hy-per Fuel Complete Fuel System Cleaner and ran that through a tank and now have an enzyme fuel cleaner in there. Any other recommendations for gunk that may have accumulated not being driven for 2 years? The tires definitely have flat spots. The passenger seat vibrates heavily at highway speeds if it's unoccupied. It's a CPO so I made them force balance the tires (some special kind of balancing system), which helped to some extent. I hate run flats in general so I'm just going to get the OEM's to last until Thanksgiving and then get Blizzak's for the winter and something great for summer next spring. Any good winter and/or tire recommendations when that time comes? The car has the Merrino leather upgrade. I've read that this is untreated leather. What kind of conditioner and/or protectant should I use? I've read that some regular leather chemicals could be bad for the Merrino, but IDK. I am planning on buying the BMW leather cleaner just to be safe. The dealer did do a whole ceramic coating inside & out as part of a $1899 mandatory fee (I negotiated to $999), so hopefully that helps. The dog is not loving being in a crate but I'm not letting her ruin a $4K leather interior. Any other recommendations for new to BMW or a car that's sat a long time? [link] [comments] |
