Subject: Torrented in Germany - how much trouble am I in?
I just found out after running probably like 30 torrents for like 10 days that my IP was leaking. Popular games, public trackers, some movies. I live in Germany. I almost shit myself. I didn't sleep all night; I do not have thousands of Euro to pay fines, that's the reason I was torrenting in the first place. Can anybody give me a ballpark probability for how likely I am to receive unpleasant mail over the next few months? Google seems to suggest I'm looking at somewhere between 50%-99%. I'm freaking out, any help? This account is obviously a throwaway and I've been more careful since...

Subject: New Patreon Piracy
Since Yiffparty was closed down for good, does anyone know how/where to get Patreon leaks? I'm talking not just videos but photos and stories as well. Sites or methods are what I'm looking for.
EDIT: I'm also looking for the ability to track down specific artists that I may or may want to find.

Subject: What are your pirating limits?
I pirate music, movies, and TV without discrimination. There are movies I really like and might want in HDR, but those are rare. I will never want to flip through 35 discs to watch a TV show (which is why I own The Office on DVD and I pirated it).
As for games, I buy all of them except for older games that I emulate. This method, obviously leaves games that go unplayed. For example, I missed 7th gen pokemon, so I emulated that on my phone. But I bought 8th gen because when it came out it was convenient. Anything on PC, I'll probably buy if I care to play.
These aren't moral limits, btw. It's entirely about convenience for me.
Subject: How is it that some Battle.net games get cracked within a day or two of their release while others remain uncracked for years?
Admittedly I'm not that knowledgeable about the mechanics of cracking games, but if whatever form of DRM battle.net uses can be worked around for games like CoD:MW2 remaster, Blizzard Arcade Collection, and Crash Bandicoot 4 almost immediately on release, why can't the same be done for the SC and D2 remasters? Or, to put it another way, if bnet has the ability to protect its games well enough to prevent SC and D2 from being cracked, why isn't it using that ability on all its releases? Neither the SC or D2 remasters are online only, so it should be possible to crack them just like other offline-capable bnet games have been shouldn't it?

Subject: Steam Deck and its possible exploits?
I am looking at the Steam Deck since it seems like a pretty cool piece of hardware but the thing is, as good as my steam library is, it could be better. A heaping cup of piracy would fix it up!
I am wondering what your thoughts are on the steam deck having a possible exploit to take the device offline forever in exchange for pirated games. I have 'modded' all my handhelds prior, just today updating my CFW switch and installing a bunch of new games and I am really hoping this can happen on the Deck.
I realize it isn't even out yet and this is all speculation, but what do you think is the chance of the first batch of units having a possible exploit to get some good ol pirated games

Subject: Can Pirates get viruses if their PC is powerful?
Looks like a delicious way for viruses to host the most efficient computer that sails near the port ocean.
What if I used a low-end ship first, then sail that baby with a strong boat and row my boat across the ocean and get to my bigger ship without getting chased by viruses.

Subject: As the number of streaming video services increase will torrents make a mainstream comeback?
My wife and I don't have kids, we have disposable income. We can afford a few streaming services.
We live in Australia - cable TV (Foxtel) sucks and so does most of the free to air TV stations.
Currently we have Netflix, Stan, Funimation (Crunchyroll), Disney+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV (roughly $70 p/m) and yet still we are finding more and more often there is a movie or just one show we want to watch that isn't on one of these services.
In 2015 Netflix launched in Australia, it had SO MUCH content. It seemed like almost everything I wanted to watch at the time was on it, and if it wasn't, it was usually just because it wasn't licensed in my country a quick VPN swap fixed that.
By 2018 I had completely abandoned torrents.
But speaking with friends lately, it seems that I'm not the only one who has recently discovered that the Pirate Bay is still alive and kicking.
We have all reached a point of saturation, I refuse to pay for any more streaming services and just today cancelled Disney+.
I have a feeling that torrents and video pirating is about to have a 2022 renaissance. Thoughts?
