Subject: Remux DTS HD vs Blu Ray True HD
I'm currently trying to get my hands on Apocalypse Now through rar bg, and the the top two files by size are a remux and what looks to be a remux but isn't labelled as such.
They're labelled with the tags in the title. Which would you suggest I go for?
Now from research, remuxes seem to be the best option, as they're uncompressed files straight from the disc. However, the file that isn't labelled as a remux has a higher bit rate, which I've learnt to be a good indicator of quality.
I'm leaning towards the non-remux because of the measurable bit rate advantage, however I'm confused as to why it's not listed as a remux.

Subject: get_iplayer download issues?
Anyone with VPN not able to download 320 kbps audio streams from BBC Radio via get_iplayer? I've been having problems recently. Wondering if my VPN (Surfshark) has been blacklisted or the BBC made a change on its end and get_iplayer needs an update. The radio program starts downloading in the highest quality, fails, then downloads the lower-quality 128 kbps version. Some stuff are expiring so it's very urgent. Thanks!
Subject: Whatever happened to Hive-CM8?
Every year, around Christmas, this group would start releasing big movies ripped from screeners and putting them online at a pretty quick frequency. Then, this year, we are into mid-January and they have not released a single title. Does anybody know what happened to them?
Subject: Remux and Dolby Vision
So I asked before what the second 1080p video was in a 4k Remux, some people said that it was the Dolby Vision stream. However when I play the mkv in Nvidia Shield, my TV (that recognizes Disney+ DV) does not recognize it as DV but as HDR instead. Also MediaInfo has no mention of DV.
Subject: Downloading or streaming with RD?
I just started using RD a couple days ago and I'm loving it. Currently, I use it to download stuff on my NAS to watch videos, but some people are saying that they use Real-Debrid with Kodi to stream cached content on RD. Should I be downloading content or using Kodi and RD to stream? Does it even really matter?

Subject: piracy question (Vinegar Syndrome)
I'm getting into and understanding piracy recently and so far I've been doing fine. one question i want to ask for my own sake is which streaming or torrent site has the most of vinegar syndrome's catalog of movies? i like to watch the movies they set out to restore, preserve and release to the public but of course with little money i don't have much choice. pretty much my first post in this subreddit so please correct me on things i missed, thank you.

Subject: Cracking ancient DRM?
I stumbled across a .wmv (in a backup of a backup) that I purchased (at the latest) in 2014, but I suspect it's older than that. VLC crashes when I try to play it. it was a legitimate purchase (yes, it's porn. we all porn.) but the site has since gone under, so I suspect they won't be any help.
does anyone remember what kind of DRM was used in that era? and how would I even load it before VLC crashes?
I know this isn't piracy at all, but I couldn't think of anyone else to ask.
