Subject: What's the best setup to stream torrented video to your TV?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I was thinking of a getting an apple tv 4k. I've read through the FAQ's and saw that apps like Plex were suggested. Will I be able to upload torrented movies thorugh this app in the Apple Tv interface? If so that's gonna be my solution I think. Any other tips greatly appreciated.I was getting tired of my chromecast not being able to cast vlc properly (no subs etc. lagging), so want to change it up.

I use a Macbook Pro and the TV is a bigass chunky Philips (w. hdmi etc. of course) if that makes any difference.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions, work-arounds, do's and dont's!

Thanks folks.

Subject: help with mega-debrid, linksnappy and premium to

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

im currently using alldebrid (6 month package). i mostly use it for downloading tv shows. lately i have been downloading season packs which can go from 20-60GB. the problem is that AD now has a 20GB daily limit on rapidshit and often has issues. in the beginning of the year, there was a 2 week downtime with rapidshit and since then my queue has grown far too long.

i have been looking for an multihost to not just handle my current queue but maybe make a permanent switch. i have found 3 services that seem to fit my needs but i have no experience with. im hoping someone here can shed some info on them and help me decide.

the vast majority of my use with AD is rapidgator, isra cloud, uploaded and torrents. so far it seems that these services have what i need but i want to see if anyone is currently or in the past used them. anyway, it would really help me out if anyone has any experience with the following services and would like to share their experience.

thanks for any and all help.

Subject: Where Can Promotional Music Releases Be Found?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've been trying to download the entire [undisclosed band formed in 1976 with a two character name]'s discography, plus promotional releases (I try to get flacs, but fallback on mp3 320kbps). However, using soulseek, rutracker, and thepiratebay, I am unable to find these more obscure tracks, let alone in a decent quality. I'm unable to find some singles, which shouldn't even be very difficult to find.

Are there any other sources which would have these tracks? The band is by no means obscure, but it's just some tracks which oddly seem to be.

Subject: How can you download VHL language textbooks/software to read offline (after purchasing it)?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Long story short, I took a semester of German with the intention of taking 2 years. So, I bought the 1-year version of the class's textbook, but I decided against taking more classes.

I want to keep the book I purchased permanently, along with the audio and course content, but the package only allows access to their website for 1 year. Since it cost quite a lot of money that I paid for, I would like to have my own version of the software for offline use AFTER the subscription period ends.

Does anyone know how to do this? Is it possible?

Thank you!

Subject: Mild ethics of AutoCAD etc

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So I’m considering a career change soon into something that’ll require usage and knowledge of CAD and programs of its like.

Is it a bad idea to pirate it purely for learning purposes? Sounds odd I know on this sub but still.

After learning it and getting the job/qualifications down the line I’d try and get a full licence of course

Does this sound reasonable? Considering CAD is 2.5k AUD for 1 year or 6.5k for 3?

Subject: Is there any site for pirating models on Gumroad?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Title’s self-explanatory! I’m looking to finally have a model of my own for games like VRChat, but I’m poor as hell currently. I also want to get models for my friends should they need them, but alas, still poor.

Is there any site or archival for gumroad items?

Subject: How do different ISPs react to copyrighted content?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I am wondering if there is any sort of list of how sensitive different ISPs in America are to copyrighted content download claims through torrenting.

For example, my parents had Verizon and I was always sure to be very careful in what I torrented and when I needed a VPN. I now have AT&T, and I'm wondering if it's the same sort of experience.

I know if you're downloading anything copyrighted that would be tracked by the rights holder you should have a VPN. But I'm just wondering if people have noticed a difference between different ISPs on how likely they are to send warnings / shut down internet for people to download and copyrighted content.

Subject: What makes using a seedbox different from torrenting directly?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm going to be using public internet at a university next year, and am wondering how to torrent safely on that network. I wouldn't be using it often, probably once every couple weeks, but I've heard that people can get busted for torrenting on university networks. Apparently seedboxes prevent that?

So, my understanding is that seedboxes are like a cloud service that you can download your torrented files from after they are downloaded to the seedbox. How does this protect you from getting discovered? Is it that you aren't seeding, or is there something about the torrent that is different from the download from the seedbox?

Subject: How to rip blu-ray to x265 mkv on Windows?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Can anyone give information or a guide on how to rip blu-ray to X265 MKV? The guides currently only list for X264.

I want the highest quality possible for a TV series in 1080p (have a 14tb external), I just don't wanna have to download 6 seasons in 1080p when I have the discs.
