I’m thinking of starting an activist group similar to We Are Change that focuses on street activism such as: bull-horning common areas, handing out dvds of documentaries and/or short educational films, handing out educational pamphlets, sign waving, participating in and/or organizing protests, getting others involved in activism, etc.
I have been involved with We Are Change off and on since 2010 or so and after rewatching some old We Are Change activism videos recently, I was inspired to start a similar activist group seeing that most, if not all, of the local We Are Change chapters are inactive now a days. I’m trying to gauge interest in this and would like to see if there are any others out there who are like minded and would like to be involved.
Some tenets I would like everyone to agree to(we can add more or change them later) before joining or starting a local chapter is:
Decentralized - every chapter is independent of one another.
No one single leader but many leaders. Each chapter/person speaks for themselves and no one else.
Non-violent - initiation of violence or threats of violence won’t be tolerated.
Pro-freedom/liberty
Non-partisan - anyone can join or start a chapter regardless of political views and personal opinions as long as you adhere to non-violence and the ideas of true liberty.
I feel a sense of urgency to start this as soon as possible so as to speak out against the tyranny that’s coming with COVID before it’s too late.
