Subject: New to fpga guides

I’ve been enjoying emulating some old favourite games with a pi but I keep wondering if there’s a better way. Ultimately I want to run a few arcade games possibly in a cabinet, using cave 68000 mainly and cps2 (probably) more than likely through hdmi Is there a guide anywhere on what is required. I’m also confused about roms, are there special versions for mister, are romsets important? And I suppose is there a major benefit over retroarch. Any help is greatly appreciated

Subject: Will there be more powerful MiSTers in the future?

Hey guys, sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm kinda new to MiSTer and was wondering where it will go in 5 to 10 years time. Do you think there will be something like a MiSTer 32 or MiSTer 64 that will push cores for later 3D hardware?

Also, do you think the recent experimental 16:9 widescreen hacks will ever make their way to FPGA based emulation? It would be weird and wild to see something like Strider or Double Dragon arcade running accurately except filling a modern aspect ratio.

Subject: SSH only half works - truly frustrating, no results or help after Googling

this is my last resort. I've tried searching on my own, asking on the Discord, searching the Discord, the whole nine yards and literally nothing. I cannot figure this out.

I can SSH/SFTP into my MiSTer fine, no problem, but I can only seemingly access/write files to the SD card portion of it.

How I got here:

I got a WiFi dongle. this one to be exact, the Edimax EW-7811Un V2 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F2ZNC6J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I thought, like a lot of people were saying on this subreddit and on the Discord, I could just pop it in and run the Wifi script. Doing that did nothing, the script runs for less than a nanosecond and then says "Press any key to continue" then boots me back to the main menu. Nothing else. On the Discord, I found out I don't even need the script, I just just edit the .conf file. Sweet, awesome, did that, still not working, no dice. I have Unix endings, the ssid and passkey are inside of the quotes, both following the case sensitivity of their names.

I searched in the Discord for people having problems with the Wifi script running and there was one single answer, but it was someone who made a mistake and plugged their dongle into a data port instead of a data port. Mine is in a data port. I tried every single data port on this thing, no dice. Returning it. If I am getting the same result as someone who didn't have their dongle connected to a data port, then my dongle is not functioning correctly.

Did some more searching and found this: https://github.com/icelaglace/MiSTer_WiFi_EW-7811UNv2

But when I try to move the downloaded folder to /lib/modules/4.19.0-socfpga-r1/ I get an error. I run macOS, so this is the error I get in Transmit

so I thought it was my OS. Boot into Windows, same exact problem, different error in WinSCP

I am absolutely stumped and it just seems to get more frustrating the more I try.

Either the Wifi dongle doesn't work or something inside my MiSTer is being weird about using wifi. I don't get why the above file transfers are a problem but it seems like absolutely no one anywhere has ever heard of anything like this

Subject: Unable to get bluetooth ps4 to pair

Hi all,

I am getting these errors whilst paring, been a while since I used my mister but did get a new low profile dongle and sold my 8bitdo one. Not sure if that made a difference but the dongle should be compatible. Frustrating.

An advice please?

Subject: Can I drive a Wells Gardner K7000 with a MiSTer?

This might be a dumb question, but I've got a Wells Gardner K7000 CRT (the type used in many 80s arcade cabinets) that I purchased years ago for an arcade restoration project that I never completed.

Anyone know if there's a way to drive it with the VGA output from the MiSTer? Has anyone here actually done something like this? I'm new to the MiSTer and I'm not sure if this is a no-brainer, utterly impossible, or somewhere in between.

Subject: MiSTer only recognizes wired Xbox One controller after plugging it out and in again

Dear MiSTer community,

I got myself a MiSTer and love ist so far. But I got one strange problem everytime I turn the MiSTer on.

My USB keyboard and Mayflash USB to SNES adapter work great and are recognized directly.

But I have to plug my wired Xbox One controller out and in again, otherwise it wont be recognized.

I tried different USB ports but it didn't change a thing. Also I disabled 1000hz polling without success. Controller firmware is up to date. I tried different micro USB cables.

Can anyone help me?
