Subject: Discrete Logic Core Question From a Non-MiSTer Owning Noob
Whilst I would love to own a MiSTer, I (for various reasons) will not be getting one anytime soon. and am generally happy with software emulation.
However, one area that I'm fascinated by is discrete logic games that don't use CPUs or ROMS (eg. Pong). As far as I can tell, MiSTer seems like a much more effective platform for emulating/simulating these games. I believe there was a software emulator (DICE) that emulates these systems on an circuit level but I hear that the project has been dormant since 2014. I also hear that you need about a 3Ghz processor to run Pong accurately :D
What is the current status of discrete logic games on the MiSTer platform? Are they accurately simulating these games on an electronic level, or are they close approximations? Is there a fundamental barrier to simulating them ie. complications with analog circuitry? One of the main problems that I can think of would be that there are no physically extant copies of several of these games and that they are lost to time.
Anyway, please excuse my ignorance and I would be grateful for your expertise on this interesting topic.
Subject: Surfing the web like it was 1995?
Anyone use the MiSTer with the 486 core and the network connection to surf the web like it was 1995? Is this possible?
Subject: Is this a good power supply?
Currently I use the Mean Well GST25B05-P1J to power my MiSTer, but I ordered a Raspberry Pi 4 for using my recently ordered MT32-Pi hat (not yet received) which uses quite some amps I am thinking that I surely need a new power supply with more amps. So my question is, does the GST40A05-P1J works with the combination of the MiSTer and a Raspberry Pi 4?

Subject: Considerations if changing from a Digital IO Board to a Standard/Analog one
I recently purchased a CRT (a 27" JVC i'Art from 2002 with YPbPr input) and decided I would grab a standard IO board v6.1 from MisterAddOns and swap it out with the Digital IO v1.2 board I originally purchased. I know that I could've purchased a cheaper DAC and then sent the video signal out of the HDMI port and all that but I also grabbed one of the aluminum cases and was ultimately attempting to go with the least amount of clutter and least amount of fiddling with the .ini when switching between a CRT and a modern display (and now deciding to send signals to both at the same time.)
Anyway! So, I was wondering if there are any considerations I'm not thinking of when making this swap out and would like to get any input before I lock it up into aluminum and save myself the headaches I'd have if I needed to reopen it multiple times.
1) I believe I have to toggle this switch on the DE-10 Nano as depicted in the first image in the red square on this website ( https://misterfpga.co.uk/mister-fpga-how-to-install-the-digital-io-board/ ) BACK to what it was before I toggled it for the Digital IO board. I believe toggling it to the position shown allowed for the use of the Full Sized TOSLink optical port on the DigiIO. I plan on using the MiniTOSLink on the Analog IO board to a DAC to RCA for audio on the CRT.
2) I will not be able to use the clean and fancy little DC jumper ( https://misteraddons.com/products/dc-jumper ) and will instead have to use the inline dc splitter and power switch ( https://misteraddons.com/products/in-line-power-switch ) which I already have in hand.
3) I know I have to remove the fan from the IO board before installing it into the aluminum case to make way for the heat sink which passthrough the IO board to contact the FPGA chip on the DE-10 Nano.
4) For the Analog video out I plan on using the VGA to YPbPr cable ( https://misteraddons.com/products/vga-to-component-ypbpr-cable ) and as I understand it I need to set ypbpr=1 in the .ini file. Anything else? Any switches on the DE-10 Nano or the Analog IO board?
Sorry for the long write up and thanks in advance for the help! Hoping I don't need to do a full-on reinstall of the microSD with MrFusion and all of that.

Subject: Is it worth getting into the MiSTer IF I'm mostly interested in arcade games?
I have my original consoles all hooked up via RGB, Component, or better and have flash carts to play my games more easily. I'm not really interested in many of the old systems, maybe handheld stuff or Atari since I don't have a way of playing them on my TV where they look nice. I'm mostly interested in the Arcade games because emulation for them is really annoying and a hassle and they usually don't play that great. Even a simple game like Galaxian plays way off in MAME, I have a Galaxian machine so I know it pretty well.

Subject: Possible other case for my Mister
I got this used online, and for my taste it gets very hot under use. Its fitted with four usb ports, and when i look at other cases i cant see one that will fit this configuration. Does anyone know of a case (passive or active cooled) that will work an possibly provide better cooling?

Does anybody have any suggestions for sensor bars on the mister?
I know about the dolphinbar, its fairly pricey though. I just wanted to know if any of the cheaper options also did the trick. Its hard to tell because so many people are making them. Also let me know what youre experiences have been like!

Subject: List of Cores being worked on? Beginner tips?
Just got my MISTER two weeks ago and very happy with it, however I wonder if I'm just not seeing some obvious resources:
-I know there are a group of very dedicated hobbyists working on different cores. Is there a single website/wiki/etc. that shows the state of what's being worked on and by whom (including their patreon)?
-Although I've been able with a little googling to find answers to most questions (dur dur dur can't believe I couldn't guess that turbographix 16 games that use the 2 button controller need to be set to 2 button in the menu), but I figure someone has consolidated a list of the most frequently asked questions. I mean, I guess sometimes I should just sit down and read the whole wiki on github and the mister bible. The information is definitely on the internet, but maybe there's one big FAQ I'm missing.
Subject: Cyclone V question
Are cores flashed the the Cyclone V non-volatile, do they persist after powering down? If so, does the MiSTer clear the core from the Cyclone when you exit a core? If you go back to the same core you just exited, will the MiSTer re-flash the core?
I’m thinking about the number of times the Cyclone can be re-flashed over its lifetime.
