Subject: Is there a visual guide to arcade cores?
Hi there, I was wondering if there existed a list of the arcade cores with screen shots? I was thinking about maybe putting one together to make it easier when choosing a game but thought someone else had maybe already done that.

Subject: I tested some Dell 4:3 LCD Monitors for a MiSTer
I grabbed a Dell 2007FP / 2007FPb from eBay and a Dell 1908FPb from a local thrift shop and put them up against a modern 27" 144Hz monitor and a PVM CRT. The fared well considering they are 15+ years old. Definitely viable, especially for tate mode! Check out the video for more details.
Subject: ZX Spectrum Next core keyboard
While I wait for my real Next to arrive (sometime next year!) I’m having fun tinkering with the ZX Spectrum Next core on the MiSTer. I’m having trouble using the keyboard successfully, though.
I have a standard 101-key PC keyboard hooked up, and the GitHub development page lists a number of keyboard shortcuts. However, I can’t find how to do a Symbol Hift on the keyboard. Can anyone help?
Subject: Can't copy files to SD card
I am currently trying to set up MiSTer on a DE10-nano for the first time, following the steps outlined in RetroRGB's video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5__shDTYMQ
The Mr. Fusion script appears to have funcionted correctly, but when I unplug the device from power, remove the MicroSD card, and then put it into my computer, I am unable to copy any files onto the card. Any attempt to do so fails with this error:
```Error 0x80071AC3: The operation could not be completed because the volume is dirty. Please run chkdsk and try again.```
chkdsk finds no problems:
```The type of the file system is exFAT.

Windows is verifying files and folders...
Volume label is MiSTer_Data.
File and folder verification is complete.

I tried to re-image the SD card and run Mr. Fusion again from scratch, but I get the exact same results. What am I doing wrong?
Subject: Regarding cases for Mister
I have the digital IO board and the USB hub from MisterFPGA.co.uk arriving through the mail soon, so that will complete my Mister setup (well, I still need to get the MT32-Pi). I am now looking for a case for my Mister.
I wanted to ask you guys about the PCB case for the Mister. Is that available anywhere? Or are there files for printing those?
Second question is: Has anyone tried this case? Is that a reliable seller? I guess that's three questions.

Subject: New to MiSTer, having trouble with a Red Octane dance pad and PSX core
So I just got started with my MiSTer setup a few weeks ago and it has been fantastic! I've been having a ton of fun revisiting some old software that I grew up with. At some point I remembered that I had an old PSX Red Octane Afterburner metal dance pad sitting in storage and wondered if I'd be able to get it to work with the PSX core, so I dug it out last night to give it a try.
I have an aftermarket control box for it (from DDRPad.com), and I coupled that with a EMS Playstation-to-USB converter, and when it's all hooked up the MiSTer is getting input from it (I can navigate the MiSTer UI with it, and I can remap the buttons on it) which is honestly much further than I was expecting to get with my janky daisy-chain of aftermarket cables and converters... however, the PSX core itself doesn't appear to recognize any input from it. I've tried the different controller settings in the main core menu but haven't had any luck. If the MiSTer UI wasn't getting the input I would have just written it off as a pipe dream on my part for now, but the fact that it's working in the UI and can be remapped has me thinking I must just be missing an obvious answer which is more frustrating to me, I feel like I'm very close but I'm not sure how to proceed.
So I'm wondering if anybody else has already gone down this path and found a working/better solution. Or if there are any other ideas for configuration needs. I've tried searching around and just about the only tip I was able to find was regarding that EMS converter I mentioned earlier.
Subject: How does cloud saving work on MiSTer?
Is it possible to store game saves through Google Drive, so I can pick up where I left off on my phone? Do I need to use RetroNAS for all of this and set up a server?
I have no need to host roms, but ideally I'd like to be able to access my game saves between devices (Mister/PC/Android)

Subject: Is it possible to get PAL games/cores to display on an NTSC CRT on MiSTer through the ini settings?
Currently using my MiSTer FPGA on a component CRT using a VGA to Component cable. I was wondering if it was possible to set PAL games/cores that aren’t at 60hz to display on my NTSC CRT. Are there ini settings that would allow me to do this?

Subject: MiSTer with an old arcade monitor
To set the stage, I’ve acquired an old arcade cabinet. It’s from the early 80s, and although it has what looks to be a JAMMA harness, the pin outs don’t match. So for now, I’ll be wiring directly. I currently have the video running via an HDMI to vga interface, then a custom vga cable to the arcade monitor. (It’s old… but just recapped) It’s an Algol CR-M-19VH. Using the Direct Video option, the image is just beautiful! I tried running through one of the VGA to arcade monitor interface boards from Amazon, and the image is crap. I’ve hooked it up a couple of times, but I am just so disappointed with the quality of the image that I just went back to the direct video option.
Now I’ve got a choice to make, do I want a vertical monitor or horizontal… and which way to mount it? If I go with the vertical, SOME games are flipped upside down, and because it’s direct video there’s no way to flip them back. With every decision, I’m removing games from the playlist. Is there another option? If i go with something like the MiSTercade, will I have to make the same decisions or is there an option to ‘flip’ orientation? I also assume all console games are off the table with the direct video option. I’m assuming it’s only arcade cores that will output correctly to my monitor with that.
I know I can’t be the only person who’s attempted this, what did you do? Do you have the MiSTercade, how does it handle the video to older monitors? There’s so little info on this subject. I can’t seem to find anything really helpful.

Would someone mind explaining to me how to manually update the Mister Main to the latest unstable nightly build? Thanks.
Subject: Horizontal cores rotated on a vertical HDMI monitor?
I don't think this is possible, but would love to be wrong.
I am getting an arcade cabinet with a 1080p LCD screen that can be set horizontal or vertical.
I know with a horizontal screen it is possible to rotate vertical games so they are playable. Is the opposite possible? Rotate a horizontal game for play on a vertical screen?
I doubt it. But if it is possible I could set the monitor vertical for ideal play of vertical games and still play horizontal games in a pinch.
Subject: Long time collector looking for support. Selling my collection for a MiSTer setup!
I have recently been unable to deny that FPGA hardware like the MiSTer can have all the benefits of playing on a original console while also avoiding all of the drawbacks of collecting for original systems. I am going to be selling every console I own up to the N64 and almost all of their games.
I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if you could share if you’re happy or not with your decision. With the MiSTer, I will be getting rid of almost 200 games and their accompanying hardware. The thought of that is terrifying, but also incredibly freeing.
Just looking for some support from the rest of the community. Thanks!
