Subject: Recommend a Saturn 1G1R CHD set (curated or not)?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've been looking for a collection of Saturn CHD that doesn't include everything in each region. Ideally something that has popular US games (EU games with English) and ideally some of the cool translations.

Subject: Cores that aren't in update all?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello! I'm quite new to mister, at the moment I'm having a blast discovering old arcade games I've never played before.

But I started wondering, what cores are still not part of update all? From what I understand these are mostly unfinished cores but I'm still curious.

I know about the Saturn, Jaguar and Atari Sys 1. Anymore that I don't know about and are available to test?

Thanks!

Subject: Is it possible to move save from Analogue Pocket to Mister?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I’ve been playing Super Mario RPG on the pocket and would like to continue playing on the Mister if possible. Are saves in a general SNES format or are they in a core specific format and therefore not transferable?

Subject: Input Lag Questions.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm slowly building a mister getting parts daily! I have some questions about input lag with my setup

This is my monitor LG 27GP850-B Ultragear Gaming Monitor 27” QHD (2560 x 1440) Nano IPS Display, 1ms Response Time

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093MTSTKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

And my USB controller is a 8bitdo Sn30 Pro USB Gamepad

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R481CVY/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

How is this setup for input lag? Im sensitive to input lag this is why im switching over from software emulation to the MISTER

Any way to reduce input lag even more? thank you all!

Subject: Re: Antonio villena's decapod issues

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I am having issues with the decapod when I use the NES core suggested by Antonio with the DB9 support on update all with the NES controller on port one of the decapod the core screen menu (The one with load * .NES, fds nsf) will continually scroll up after I tick the option for snac controllers. It will not stop unless I unplug the controller from port one.

I don't know what is going on so tried switching to a different core. I switched to the LLAPI NES core and it doesn't have any issues.

I'm assuming this is a core issue or something going on with the decapod. I don't have any issues with the Sega controllers though, only when I plug in an NES controller no matter which one the issues arises.

I have an 8bitdo NES controller that I just purchased about a week ago and 2 original NES controllers and it still has the same issue as soon a game is started and the snac is ticked on (controllers) it starts scrolling up like I'm pressing the up direction but nothing is being pressed.

I got a new 8bitdo SNES controller 2.4g version to use on the decapod and and the SNES core it looks like the old decapod (yes I have 2 of them one for Antonio's mister and another one for my ironclad when it comes in) It have issues with that controller. It does not work on the old decapod tried playing super Mario world and you can only press the B(Jump) button and if you hold the A button you can move to the right with the d-pad and sometimes down but no other directions.

It does work on the new decapod with mt32 support. They are both connected with the DB9 cable and snac ticked on because that's the only way it works for me and the new decapod works with no issues on the snes core....

Is it safe to assume my old decapod has issue with the SNES ports (I tried both the DB9 fork core and the LLAPI core and it still has issues the second player port doesn't even register any inputs when I swap controllers but for some reason when I play the NES core the second player port works on the old decapod even with the swapped setting ticked...) and the new one seems to be ok with only the NES scrolling issue that I can tell so far.

I posted this on the mister forum but the decapod isn't discussed much there either so I thought I would try here on Reddit.

Subject: Bluetooth delay - official nes switch controller

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I think this is just standard Bluetooth delay I’ve noticed on quite a few occurrences that there’s a bit of a delay in input to what I’ve pressed and seen on screen. I’m guessing some bluetooth controllers are better then others just wondering if there is anyway to mitigate it or if anyone else experiences it.

I want to be wireless and as authentic as possible but I think this is the only controller that can get this experience as close as possible that’s wireless.

Subject: Fitting the Mister inside a console shell

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Likely to be a controversial opinion but I would like to purchase a Mister and fit inside the shell of either Sega Saturn or a broken Neo Geo AES - Not much of a fan of the very Homebrew looking cases that aren’t as sleek as the Analogue consoles.

Has anyone managed to pull this off? Is there any shell this works well with?

Subject: Mister Add-on board on a DE10 Standard

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've not seen anyone ask about this anywhere else, so I figured I might be the first one to do so.

So I've been seeing bits and pieces of info on mister being ported to a DE10 Standard to use instead of a DE10 Nano. As a person who likes ridiculous and experimental builds of any hardware, I'm curious: Would it be possible to use mister add-ons on the DE10 Standard board with a bit of messing around and cobbling together of parts?

I'd like to give it a shot and perhaps make something kinda crazy once I put the money together to do so. I also wanted to be able to use a dual ram module for it for the sake of doing so. I'm not really concerned with whether or not it's necessary.

I'm sure there will be some that will just say "just get the Nano and follow directions!" but I want to take a walk on the wild side and see where I could possibly go with it.

If you've tried anything similar, please tell me. I'd love to see what wild ideas folks have attempted with the DE10 Standard or similar boards.

Subject: downloader_pc_launcher.py No Longer Working?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I used to love to update MiSTer on the PC under Linux. But a fresh download of the python script running on an up to date Linux mint results in the following two errors: No module named 'distutils.util and: Warning! Your OS version seems to be older than September 2021! Please upgrade your OS before running Downloader More info at https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/mr-fusion

So, My OS is not older than 2021, and Going to that site offers no help with this issue. So, is there a better script available to run on my PC to update MiSTer? Help is much appreciated.
