Subject: MiSTer and 4k

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Can it be upgraded so that it would be possible to scale SNES and Sega genesis (or at least NES) to 4k? Thanks

Subject: I need help with resolutions

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey guys i am somewhat of a noob to mister (still learning). I got a dell P780 and im trying to find the perfect resolution that will fill the screen and allow me to use scandoubling. the resolution that i have seen other people use is 2048x240@120 but i dont know how to add the resolution or use it. i keep running into "video_ mode=" then a bunch of seemingly random numbers. what does "Video_mode" do? and how can i try other resolutions?

Subject: Audio questions

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello folks. I am using the 3.5mm audio out on the IO board with vga out. I have it connected to some Klipsch pro media speakers. This is a weird question, but there seems to be a lot of feedback noise coming from the speakers when there is not a game playing. When a game is playing, there is still feedback, but it is less noticeable. I’ve also noticed that the volume dial on the speakers is very, very low, even to get a loud volume. It doesn’t seem to make a difference if I adjust the core volume or the global volume in the main menu. Any ideas? Do I need to somehow better shield the components inside the aluminum case I’m using? Thanks for any insight!!!!

I would like to have everything if possible but if not I’m really looking for SNES and NES.

Subject: Tetris core/control issues

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Having a difficult time with my Tetris core for some reason. Every other arcade cores seems to function fine input wise, for some reason tetris will not let me be consistent with my inputs. It seldomly lets me move blocks left or right. Anyone else had this issue or might know what's causing it??

Subject: do usb adapters for legacy controllers work well on MiSter?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

hi there, i was really interested in purchasing a MiSter after hearing and seeing more about it but wanted to know if adapters such as snes to usb work fine on the MiSter and if so what is the lag like? Also if possible, what is the lag for controllers such as ps3/ps4 fightsticks or modern controllers. any help is greatly appreciated i really would love to play my favorite games at its best.

Subject: Mister Cases in US? (Specifically NOT clear acrylic)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Looking for places I could buy some for a full 3 board stack. I'm trying to not be too picky, but all I I'm seeing from the regular places (ebay, etsy) are all clear cases.

Subject: SNAC not working?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I cannot for the life of me get SNAC working. I have the v6.0 io board with the SNAC board and a snac snes adapter hooked up to the user port. I turned on SNAC in the snes core and tried swap controllers, but I still can't get it to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Subject: Would people be interested in gear from Japan?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So this whole MiSTer thing has really re-invigorated my love for classic gaming. I've been in Japan for two years now, and it's been slowly building as I go to junk shops with literal bins full of old controllers and adapters and consoles and games. Now that I've got a MiSTer I've been slowly building out my classic controller collection for use with the relevant cores.

That got me thinking, maybe I could do some hunting for peripherals, or even games and consoles for people as a hobby.

Just trying to gauge interest (and no, this isn't an advertisement), I'm just wondering. Is this something that people would be interested in? Or am I crazy?

Subject: Mister FPGA sd-card OS?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi! New to the MisterFPGA scene and so far love the possibilities. I do have a question about how the base OS runs off the SD Card (or doesn't). I can boot the Mister w/o the SD Card installed. I tried re-flashing to another image and insert back into the Mister, reboot, but it still takes me to my old settings. Clearly it's not reading off the SD Card. Is there a way for "force" the Mister to read from the SD Card at boot? Or am I missing something completely basic? Thanks!
