I like the idea of connecting an old 1084 monitor (which is still at my parents hosue) to my current pc (with hdmi out), so that I can use emulation but still have the original look of the games. To be honest, all the upscaling algorithms and shaders are nice and all but in the end, those games were not really meant to be played on my huge 27" monitor... The old monitor has a scart input. Is this even possible?

I recently managed to finally get hold of an Amiga 500, after wanting one since they were released. I had it checked to make sure there was no battery leakages, which was lucky as the RAM expansion board was just starting to leak. Once sorted we plugged it in to the tv and played a heap of the games I got with it, which was fun trying to work out how to play some of them without manuals and possible keys and joysticks not working (still need to test it all), but watching someone who was born when the machine was made not wanting to stop playing was awesome.

I have seen that I can set the Amiga up with a floppy drive replacement so I can just use a CF card and such as a hard drive but I don't really want to lose the drive as I love using disks, but I do want to be able to play around with other games/software using something like a USB or SD/CF card. What are my options?

Will also be willing to take any other advise on other things to make the experience more enjoyable. Much thanks.

I've just bought a Action Replay 3 on ebay. Like a lot of retro tech on ebay it needs a proper clean. However there are no screw holes on the back for easy opening.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get into the thing so I can properly clean and fix it? (The slowmo knob is gone.)

I loved my Amiga. I still love the idea of my Amiga. But I'm not in a place anymore where I can dedicate time and resources to it. It's been sitting in storage for nearly 20 years (but I have connected it all up, so it still functions just fine).

So I'm going to ask here: what's the best way for me to sell my old Amiga? It's completely unmodded. I'll answer any questions, but I don't want to put the info in this post, because this is NOT a "for sale" post, it's a "hey, where is the market" post so I can go there and sell it.
