Subject: Trying to find an old Amiga Demo, Intro, or Screensaver. Not sure which it is. Xposted from r/demoscene and r/tipofmyjoystick
My high-school math teacher collected old technology. He had wired a bunch of TV's together in his class, and had basically a utility belt of pagers, cb radios, Texas Instrument calculators, etc. At the back of his classroom sat his Amiga computer which was his pride and joy. During our classes, the computer would cycle between various screensavers or demos or something, and every once in a while this amazing music would start with the little yellow guys bouncing in time. Everyone in class would cheer when it started and my teacher would stop teaching for a minute to let us enjoy it.
EDIT: A few more details The background was either black or very deep blue.
The little guys stood on pistons that looked like this: https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3inthree.jpg All the pistons were level with each-other until their musical note happened, then it would spring up and launch the yellow guys. There were at least 6 pistons, probably more.
The yellow guys looked a little bit like the google's blob emoji's, if I remember correctly. https://i.insider.com/591d6851dd08950c3c8b45a5?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp Short and squat, and I think they did a flip when they were launched in the air, but that may be the haze of memory. They may also have had little stubby legs, but that may also have been embellished by time.
I made a quick track of a few bars of the music as well, to see if that jogged anyone's memories. This I actually remember very clearly. The music in the thing I'm looking for went on much longer and had a section that sounded like an organ or band chorale as well. https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/5686463907233792

Subject: Amiga 500 on Toshiba 14AF43?
I recently pulled my Amiga 500 out of storage and I'm trying to find good TV/monitor to use with it.
I recently purchased a Toshiba 14AF43 CRT TV to use with my old gaming systems and saw someone mention they are using that CRT with their Amiga. Anyone know the type of cable I would need for that?
I also have a Commodore 1702 I just hooked up - not sure if that is a good option (my 1084S is apparently dead).
I'm mostly looking to play my Amiga games....
I live in the US so I don't have anything with SCART.
And suggestions would be appreciated.

Subject: First getting an Amiga - Reminiscing
I had a Commodore C16+4 when I was a little kid (Maybe 6) - a Christmas present for me and my older brother - came with Treasure Island, Fire Ant etc
Then we got a C64 - was the Terminator 2 cartridge pack box set - had that for a few years..
Then I finally got the Amiga, I'd wanted for years, and OMG - what an upgrade from the C64!
My parents weren't keen on buying me one for Christmas/Birthday, so I had to save up for one myself, at about age 13. I couldn't afford any games when I bought it, so had to content myself with playing with Workbench for a couple of weeks, then I finally treated myself to Amiga Power magazine and slapped in the playable demo....
First game was Arabian Nights - wow! the graphics and music were incredible!
I played that Amiga loads, and remember buying (and loving) Syndicate, Speedball 2, Body Blows, Hunter, Tank Command, Blam Machinehead, Desert Strike and Cannon Fodder, as well as many others I'm sure.
I used to cut order forms off the back of the Amiga Power magazines to buy games mail order, and my mum would write a cheque to pay for them (I'd pay her back). The games would take about 3 weeks to arrive, but were half price mail order, and so much excitement when the mailman finally delivered - a proper box and an instruction manual!
It was sad seeing the Amiga slowly losing the battle to the consoles - the games were much more interesting on the Amiga in my opnion, but the graphics and loading times were struggling to compete with the SNES and the Megadrive.
It was also a shame to see the decline of Games magazines, and magazines in general.
Anyway, I hit about 16, and life was taking me in different directions, so I sold the Amiga, and all the games. Wish I'd kept them now...
Anyway, for anyone still following, thanks for listening to a middle age guy thinking about his childhood over a beer.
Peace to all.

Got the processor ordered for my Amiga 1000, and my SCSI2SD just arrived for my Amiga 2000, shouldn't be too much longer before I'm up and going on either one.
I've been a Reddit lurker for the most part over the years, but I'm really digging r/amiga

Subject: Trying to identify a futuristic sports game where 2 players play on hover boards and throw a disc back and forth.
I used to play this game alot on my Amiga 500 back in my college days. My memory of the game involves a horizontal split screen where you could play the computer or another person. I recall that the players were on some kind hover board and I think you threw a disc back and forth to each other. I guess it was a bit like Tron but I believe you wanted to catch the disc.
I could incorrect about some details as I haven't played this game for about 25 years. Any help identifying it would be great as I would love to share this with my son.
Subject: Platform scroller set in hell?
Hey everyone! I loved my Amiga 500 + I relive it every few years via Roms with my original Amiga and screen in the loft….
There was one game I can’t seem to find, maybe it was only a demo, it was a side scrolling platform game that I’m quite sure you could go both ways, seemed to be set in hell and after a timer went off the boss devil thing appeared and you had to kill it ?
Can’t for the life of me remember the name!
Wish I could be more descriptive but it’s been so long. Any ideas would be great ! Love the Amiga
