Subject: Amiga A500 NEW ART Console - what to do with it?
![]() | Hey Amiga community, I recently received an Amiga A500 NEW ART console as a gift from my neighbour, and I could use your help in figuring out its value. I was born in 1988, so the Amiga is a bit before my time, and I don't have any emotional connection to it. I'm considering selling it, but I'm unsure of its worth. I do not want to get ripped off by some reseller/middleman. Unfortunately, I don't have the power adapter, so I haven't been able to test the unit. Additionally, I haven't been able to find any listings on eBay to compare prices. I would really appreciate your input on the following:
Thank you all in advance for your help and expertise! I'm excited to learn more about this unique piece of gaming history and find it a new home with someone who will appreciate it. [link] [comments] |
Subject: Kickstart ROM that is most compatible with WHDload
Which kickstart ROM version has the most compatibility with WHDLoad games for a real Amiga 500? I currently have kickstart v1.3 but also waiting on the adapter to install KS v3.2.2

It has to be typing in “dingadingdangmydangalonglinglong” for the game Sleepwalker for me. It let you skip levels and I don’t think much else. Was told to me by a random kid hanging out by a Street Fighter II Arcade in the local leisure centre.

So over the weekend I took out my A500 along with the GPV A530 out of storage, the Amiga works fine on it's own, however when trying to run with a the connected A530 with turbo ON the drive spins up and I seem to hear the heads normally on initialization, however the HDD LED is not showing any activity.
While that happens, the Amiga stays on a white screen, the floppy drive does not click. It does boot normally when the A530 is attached but turned to turbo OFF
The accelerator has only the 1MB it shipped with and the stock 68EC030 with no FPU, and of course the SCSI disk.
Is this the kind of behaviour to expect from the A530 when the HDD has failed?

I bought a lot of floppies off ebay and would liek to have them in adf, especially because they are not commercial games but homebrew and other stuff not readily available online.
I have a 98-ish rig pc with floppy if that can be of any help, as all guides i see onliner seems to be mentioning having an old pc, but i would like to know if there's a more "modern" way to do it

My friend picked up a Samsung SyncMaster 3 monitor for £10 for me, and I noticed that it takes a 9-pin video cable as opposed to the normal 15-pin VGA cable.
Are these monitors suitable for Amigas via RGB?

On my Amiga 500, I had this game or a visual demo. I could never get any actual gameplay to start (had a huge load of random copied discs.
Anyway, the only thing I remember is we the intro/cutscene. It was set in the future, and it was about these hover cars, that seemed to have faces and talked. The music was killer, and is partly the reason I want to track it down. I remember. The cutscene had this car talking to this guy, and he calls him a bastard…sorry no context, this is just a vague childhood memory. Does this seem familiar to anyone?

Hi Guys I'm using Amiberry running on Dietpi to keep the system as bare as I can. This is all running on a Raspberry Pi 400 (the thing was just made for this job - am I right?).
Problem I have, is that none of the 'quit' keys for any of the games I have exist on the Pi's keyboard, except for PrtScn but that doesn't work. The knock on effect of this is that games with a save feature, won't save, as WHDLOAD requires the quit key to save the data. Summary, WHDLOAD saves on quit.
The one game I have been able to test, is ELITE. This uses the forward slash key, which is Fn plus the /? key.
Anyone found a solution to this?
